Delete your Dimba account

Dimba — travel companion for AFCON 2027 and beyond (mobile app and web portal)

This page explains how to request deletion of your Dimba user account and the personal data associated with it. Use the same process whether you use the Dimba Android or iOS app or the Dimba website.

How to request account deletion

Follow these steps. We use your email to verify that the request comes from the account owner.

  1. Send an email to privacy@dimba.com from the same email address registered on your Dimba account.
  2. Use the subject line: Dimba account deletion request.
  3. In the body, include your full name and the email address linked to the account (if different from the sending address). If you use a phone number as your main login identifier, include that number.
  4. Optional: briefly state whether you use the mobile app, web portal, or both—this helps us process your request faster.

We will confirm ownership and process your request. If we cannot verify your identity, we may ask for additional information before deleting your account.

What we delete

After your request is verified and approved, we delete or anonymize personal data tied to your account where we are not required to keep it by law, including for example:

  • Your account profile (name, email, phone, avatar, preferences)
  • App and portal content that is stored only for your account (e.g. saved items, drafts, and similar data), subject to product constraints
  • Community profile fields and social graph data where applicable
  • Session and marketing identifiers associated with your account

Some data may be removed by disabling access and then purging from active systems; residual copies in backups are overwritten or deleted on a rolling schedule (see retention below).

What we may keep and why (retention)

We may retain certain information after account deletion when the law requires it or when necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. Examples include:

  • Legal and financial records (e.g. invoices, tax, tourism levy, and anti-fraud records) for the period required by applicable law or regulation
  • Identity verification (KYC) materials where retention is mandated for compliance
  • Aggregated or de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably be linked back to you

Retention periods depend on jurisdiction and obligation; we do not keep personal data longer than necessary for those purposes. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy (Data retention section).

Timing

We typically acknowledge requests within a few business days and complete deletion of your account from active systems within thirty (30) days after verification, unless a longer period is required by law or there is an active dispute. Backup systems may retain encrypted copies for a limited period before automatic purge.
